Wishes and More Gift Drive

We are running a toy drive for Wishes and More this year at our office. Here is some more information on what you can donate to the cause below. Please help us provide small gifts for children and families that are suffering from severe illnesses. Please contact us with any questions.

Wishes and More

Wishes & More has a wish process that includes an initial visit with the potential wish child to discover their wish choices.  These meetings take place at their home or at their bedside in the hospital and we encourage them to be relaxed and comfortable by bringing them a “wish bag” as an ice breaker.  Siblings are often left-behind or left out during the critical and on-going care required for our wish recipients.  Our mission is to serve the family, and consequently, we also bring a gift bag for each sibling.

The kids we serve are struggling through heartbreaking news, terrible diagnoses and painful treatments.  The physical and emotional impact that their condition has on them is unbelievable and our goal is to have our process be as easy, fun, exciting and magical as we are able.  It begins with this initial meeting.

The wish bags we provide serve as an opportunity to give the wish child & his/her brothers and sisters something that they enjoy and to kick off the process on a happy, positive note.  Included in the bags are things that the wish child will enjoy – games, stickers, treats, books, gift cards, lotions, movies, music and toys.  Each bag is carefully prepared based on the wish application and hand-delivered to the wish child and siblings by our volunteer Wish Wizards.

Wishes & More can’t take away the illness of a child, the hurt of the family members or the struggles of financial situations; however, we can bring hope to an entire family and community.  Our wishes bring light to a family as they’re running through darkness.  We provide extraordinary experiences, bring joy and hope and create cherished memories for families and the kids we serve. The entire wish experience helps bring hope to these kids and families – hope that they can make it even one more day, week, month or year in order to experience their wish.  And it all begins with a visit from our volunteers who deliver a wish bag and begin the process to fulfilling a wish come true.  A gift bag may seem like a simple idea, but for a child who is getting bad news every day, struggling through nearly intolerable treatments and missing out on time with friends and family, a bag can mean the world… it can mean the start of a dream come true.

What to donate:

Both gifts for toddlers and teen wish kids which are currently our highest priority, however this is not a comprehensive list and we welcome any creative ideas. We are grateful for any and all donations, but we would ask that the items are new and valued between $5-20.

  • Toys for toddlers and infants: small Fisher-Price toys, blocks, board books (with the thick cardboard pages), things with letters/shapes, toy sets, light up or musical toys, etc. Gifts for children in the birth-3y.o. range.
  • Teen gifts: gift cards to restaurants/coffee chains/superstores/online stores valued between $5-20, headphones or speakers, nail polish, card games, board games, party games, any other teen items you can think of!
  • General: Color Wonder books and supplies, themed stickers (Disney, superhero, animal), travel games and travel art supplies, board games for young kids.

Help us by donating to these families during this holiday season!
