Full-Time Customer Service Representative / Account Manager, Personal Lines Insurance

This position offers flexibility and can be performed fully onsite at the main office location, or a combination of onsite and remote.

The Role

We are looking for an experienced customer-oriented service professional to join our independent agency's

personal lines insurance team! The Account Manager/Customer Service Representative, or CSR, acts as the manager for the client, providing education and service on a daily basis. The best Account Managers are genuinely excited to help customers. They’re patient, empathetic, and passionately communicative. They love to talk and aren't afraid to pick up the phone! The most successful Account Managers can put themselves in their clients’ shoes and advocate for them when necessary, always making them feel like they are right.

Customer feedback is priceless, and problem-solving comes naturally to team members in this role. They are confident at troubleshooting and investigate if they don’t have enough information to answer or resolve client concerns. The target is to ensure excellent service standards, respond efficiently to client inquiries and maintain high customer satisfaction and retention.


  • Manage large amounts of incoming calls and emails

  • Identify and assess customers’ needs to achieve satisfaction

  • Assist with gathering information, quoting new and renewal business for home, auto and umbrella; presenting information to prospective clients and onboarding new clients

  • Be the main point of contact for existing clients to manage changes/endorsements, client reviews, billing and payment questions, claims, remarketing, and other customer service inquiries

  • Build sustainable relationships and trust with customer accounts through open and interactive communication

  • Provide accurate, valid and complete information by using the right methods/tools

  • Handle customer complaints, provide appropriate solutions and alternatives within the time limits; follow up to ensure resolution

  • Keep detailed and accurate records of customer interactions, process customer accounts and file documents

  • Follow core processes and procedures

  • Take the extra mile to engage and satisfy customers

  • A combined role of Account Manager and Sales will be considered for the right candidate


  • Proven customer support or account management experience

  • Track record of proven success in servicing customers

  • Strong phone contact handling skills and active listening

  • Familiarity with CRM systems and practices

  • Customer orientation and ability to adapt/respond to different types of personalities

  • Excellent communication and presentation skills

  • Ability to prioritize and manage time effectively

  • Minimum of 2 years or personal lines experience required with active MN or WI Property and Casualty license in good standing

  • Ability to work at the office full-time, or a combination of onsite and remote work

  • High school degree
